Hi
Martin Butterworth kindly showed me the ins and outs of Yanununbeyan
NR/NP yesterday. We had a pleasant day of birding and bird talk and some
observations for the above three grids. We thought that there was at
least some habitat more or, perhaps, less suitable for the above three
species and speculated on why we were not seeing the three species
listed in the heading. It could have been that they are there but so
scarce we simply did not pick them up, or it could be that we did not
cover enough ground. I would appreciate any views on the topic - or on
advice about where and how to find Chestnut-rumped Heathwrens. We did
pick up over thirty species including: Superb Lyrebird, Brown Goshawk
and Eastern Yellow Robin. Small parties of Yellow-faced and White-naped
Robins were on the move - mainly in a South-east direction.
