Bill and I spent part of the weekend monitoring walkers participating in the
Canberra International Two Day Walk. On Saturday morning between 8.00 and
10.30 three to four good-sized flocks of Yellow-faced Honeyeaters moved
through the eucalypts bordering Lake Burley Griffin just behind the museum.
A Noisy Friarbird also passed through. On Sunday morning at the Yarralumla
playing fields we were treated to the autumn calls of an abundance of Pied
Currawongs in the trees. A large number of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos were
feeding on the ground.
