There was a solitary bat in a grey leafed gum tree
in Sturgess Pl Weston on Tuesday this week. It was deep brown to black in
colour, about Currawong size, and co-incidentally sharing the tree with a Grey
Currawong.
On Thursday I heard a drawn out "ooom, ooom" sound
coming from a similar tree (in Duffy this time) and was able to track down a
Common Bronzewing high up. Also in the vicinity was a Spotted Turtle
Dove.
Cheers
Rod.
