Hi! Philip.

Your comments regarding the CBCs would be OK if it was early in the season, but these birds have been heard or seen at least once a day for months. It could be that the Grey Goshawk or some other raptor, unseen by me, has put in a fleeting appearance while the CBC is present thus giving me the impression it's them causing the panic.  The CBCs do most of the time arrive unheralded, quietly hopping and gliding from tree to tree, usually at mid tree level and could easily pass overhead un-noticed.  They do look quite sinister, sneaking through the foliage, peering in all directions before progressing to the next tree and repeating the same.

Dimitris, regarding the Topknots, there was flock 40/50 strong up Lake Conjola way on 28/12 so they ar still around.

Cheers

Bob Rusk

PS.    I've just thought, It just may-be that I'm feeding pansy parrots !
PSS.  Oh! dear me,I hope no-ones seen me!
