We went to Campbell Park this morning. There must have been a deluge there on Thursday. (We only had 3mms here in Griffith). All the dams are full and have overflowed so that even the big dam, to the east of the horse gate is full. The fence to the north of the horse gate has been broken by water and debris washed against it and everywhere there are signs of flowing water. When did this last happen? But not many interesting bird were to be seen. Nest building by a pair of leaden fly catchers was the most interesting sighting. There were several small flocks of the fly catchers, and also trillers, many magpies, 4 dusky wood swallows, a couple of willy wagtails. However, no honey eaters of any description were heard or seen. Is there shortage of honey eaters this summer?

Elizabeth
