Myself, sue Lasjko and barabara Allan made a trek to Warks Road this morning.  Despite the brief assisting presence of Dabb pere et fille we were unable to meet the primary objective of Cicadabird to a level that would permit a tick.

However there were plenty of goodies around including:
  • Satin flycatchers everywhere: I wrote down 15 birds but there were probably more.  We saw ON, DY and CF.
  • Golden whistler DY
  • White-naped Honeyeater in very large numbers.  I wrote down 50, but this is probably very conservative.  We recorded NB (about 3m in front of our faces)and DY.
  • Satin Bowerbird at a couple of spots up the creek, includng a good view of ON fairly high in a decrepid eucalypt.
  • Southern Boobook sitting in  eucalypt looking at us looking at it;
  • Rufous fantail flitting around as though it had a nest but we couldn't find it.
A few things were surprisingly missing in the avian department (eg sacred kingfisher; white-plumed honeyeater), but very pleasingly absent was the lower simian, Bogan trailbikerii.
