>From vague memory, it's been seven or eight years since Brown
Treecreepers have been regularly recorded at Campbell Park, however the
odd one or two birds have been seen in recent years. It is significant
when they are sighted now, so records for the database would be most
welcome.

"Augurs well for Brown Treecreepers that used to be hereabouts," a
junior authority on such matters ventured. Then, bless my binos, 5
minutes later, on a dead windfall, we saw a single Brown Treecreeper.
Junior Audubon was extremely choughed ... I mean chuffed.
Is there any doubt about the identification of this Brown Treecreeper?
If not, this is a very exciting find! When I first came to Canberra
about 15 years ago, Brown Treecreepers could always be seen near the
horse gate at Campbell Park, but I don't think they have been recorded
there now for about ten years. Apparently they don't move around much,
and I understand there is a plan to reintroduce them at
Goorooyaroo/Mulligan's Flat. The Newline birds seem to have disappeared
on my last few visits so maybe they do move around more than is
realised?
