they certainly aren't. I was at Jerrabomberra Wetlands yesterday afternoon
around 5.30 when 3 cars driven by young men came into the Dairy Rd carpark,
spent ten minutes tearing around in circles raising huge amounts of dust while
one stood and videoed the whole stupid episode, then left, only to return 5
mins later and do the whole thing again. I was concerned they would actually
hit one or more of the parked cars, but not brave enough to confront the louts,
who left again after another 10 minutes of skidding around.
between the clouds of dust coming over Kellys, saw 2 Latham's snipe, 2 freckled
ducks, 3 pink-eared ducks, an Australasian grebe, as well as the usual species.
black shouldered kite was hovering over crake alley.

Subject: Harry 1985?-2007
The street peacock of 14 years standing was killed yesterday by 2 (twentyish)
male persons who drove on the verge on the wrong side of the street at high
speed to get him, then drove off laughing. Harry, struck down in full plumage,
was a great character.
They're not all mild-mannered birdwatchers out there.
