According to Steve Wilson's book  "Birds of the ACT: Two centuries of change" the first record of a Bar-tailed Godwit ni the ACT was in late December 1972.  The other records - which he suspects are of a single bird - were between 19 Nov and 2 Dec oin 1979.  Thus:
  • it is a very rare bird in this area; and
  • it may hang around for a while.

Hello all!

The Godwit was showing well on the far bank from the Cygnus hide with 6 Pied Stilts, 2 Glossy Ibis and at least 1 Black-fronted Dotterel. It was in the grass so it may prove hard to pin down. Also Black-shouldered & Whistling Kite.

Cheers!
