Thanks to  Mike Robbins for an excellent facilitation and some excellent birds on the Wednesday walk.  Unfortunately my efforts at photographing the Hooded robin chick produced nothing usuable.  I hope someone else had better skill!

in the afternoon I went to Jerrabombera Wetlands to try to persuade Alastair's Black-tailed Native hen to emerge.  It didn't, so I will try again tomorrow.  However the visit was well worthwhile with my interest being grabbed by:
2 Glossy ibis .between Bittern and Cygnus hides;
3 familes of Purple swamp-hen totalling 8 chicks (see image for some of them) mainly in front of Bittern;
2 Chestnut teal with 9 very small ducklings and 2 Pac Blac ducs with 6 ducklings - both lots in front of Cygnus
1 Whistling kite over the future dog trac site (see below)
About 25 Black swans including 6 small cygnets in front of Tadorna;
1 Royal spoonbll in breeding attire opposite Tadorna;
Magpie-lark NY on one of the islands oposite Tadorna.

As I was returning from my Hen-hunt I noticed some 10 suits and 10 suitesses standing on the wooden footbridge.  They looked somewhat like bookies so I guess Geoffrey's message of yesterday has inspired someone to start site inspections for the motocross and dog track he was prophesying.  I suppose we should be sympathetic: in these EI times the desperate punters (is that a tautology?) must be very short of investment opportunities.
