Lots of Bogongs at the coast (Durras) on the weekend. Also a hatch of flying (fluttering) insects - thousands of them. I watched a Red Wattlebird gorging itself while perched on the rail of the footbridge over Durras Creek. They were so thick it simply snatched them out of the air virtually without moving. A Noisy Friarbird was dining likewise a short distance away but hadn't quite mastered the RWB's stationary technique. Along with the usual coastal suspects there were several Fan-tailed Cuckoos calling, and a Boobook calling early on Monday evening.

Cheers

Rod
