Rather late but.....
On 7 August, about noon, a large (100-150?) and noisy flock of yellowtailed black cockatoos settled briefly on trees near our house (Sutton Road, 14.8km from Qbn). We noticed that one of the birds was 'all yellow' with no black visible as it perched on a tree. When they moved on (flying roughly Easterly towards Wamboin) our yellow bird was a magnificent sight. Glistening a pale yellow with a narrow black fringe at the wing edge and edge of the tail. - (A friend remarked that they were not uncommon -??) A few days later, in the late afternoon, when I was driving home I saw what may have been the same large flock at the intersection where the Kowen Road branches off the Sutton Road. I didn't spot an 'all yellow' bird but didn't have my binoculars with me at the time.
I wonder whether the flock was reported by someone in Wamboin.
