Geoff asks: Does anyone know if EWR is known to
attack and eat platypus? That seems a bit extreme to me. An average platypus is
about twice the weight of a EWR, although there is a big range in sizes of both
species (probably age & sex) and includes an overlap. Although one night
several years ago at Commonwealth Park during Floriade, Maria and I watched a
family of EWR happily chomping on a Pacific Black Duck.
