I have just finished reading The Big Twitch. Its a
great read, full of laughs and plenty of fantastic information about birds, the
logistics of twitching and life in general. All us birding characters are
there. It can only do us good to laugh at ourselves.
I would get run out of the twitchers' club as I
don't even know how many Australian species I have seen but I do like to see a
'lifer', have travelled far to see some and have a guide book where I write
the place and date of when I first saw and fully recognised a bird. I am not too
worried about spelling errors but think it is a good idea to try to get it
right.
