Hi All,
Weds the first Aug a truly magnificent sighting of a New Wedgy in
the area a very close sighting over the power lines behind Mackenzie St
seems a very young bird with a distinctive tail(one protruding tail
feather),Further on Sunday the Fifth a splendid pair of raptors two little
Eagles close to Majuras summit engaging in Prenuptial display diving at each
other from a height....really nice birds,fresh plumage....anyone got Ideas
as to their nesting in the area?...renewed raptor interest perhaps coincides
with the modest increase in rabbit numbers?...Freddy and Fredo?my two semi
resident Frogmouths (No 57 Mackenzie St)seem to have swapped
parners,Freddies? new Partner is very much bigger and has clearly different
plumage...hopefully they will breed again, watch this spot if you are
interested....Terry Gourlay.....
