Went along Red Hill ridge for a very cold and windy walk yesterday.
(I'm not sure which hill-top is actually Red Hill, is it the one with
the restaurant, or the next one, the one with the trig point?)
Anyway, apart from Eastern Rosellas, Galahs and Magpies, the only bird
life was a few Weebills, a Wedge-tailed Eagle being mobbed by a Little
Eagle (tiny in comparison), and one large, pale Striated Pardalote
being blown by. I didn't get to check the colour of its wing-spot, but
I assume this was a yellow-spotted Tasmanian bird. I have seen these
along this ridge before, and assume they use it as a migration route
(can't imagine they'd linger on it).
