I believe many COG members 'bird' in the following

Comments due 19
July. 'Site preparation of inner
asset protection zone in three Canberra Nature Park reserves'
(received 5/7/07). This relates to works proposed to 'create an area
within the inner Asset Protection Zone (IAPZ) at each of the three sites which
is able to be mown with a slasher to protect adjacent assets by maintaining
bushfire hazards at an acceptable risk level. The slashable area to be
created must be greater than 4m wide and no greater than 30m ...'. The
sites are at Tuggeranong Hill, Urambi Hills and Cooleman Ridge Nature Reserves,
and include pink-tailed worm lizard habitat. [the approach proposed is
probably relevant to the concern we expressed about 'model planning provisions'
in our comments on the restructured Territory Plan]
