This morning Samantha returned from walking the neighbour's dog and reported she'd found a road-killed galah that bore a blue plastic wingtag.

"I couldn't get the wingtag off so I put it in the fork of a tree. We'll go back with the wire snippers and get the tag."

Back at said tree there was no galah. "Are you sure this was the tree?" I said. "I'm certain," she replied.

"Are you sure the bird was dead? Maybe it got better and left," I suggested.

"Don't be silly! But there was a young boy watching and I told him to leave it alone."  Hmm!

Anyhow, Sam said the wingtag read M-5 or possibly M-S. Are there any galah-taggers out there?
