Thank you indeed to Barbara Allan and to all who have contributed to
this worthwhile publication over the years. I have kept my copies from
when I joined COG in 1980 but the time has now come to pass them on so
if anyone can make use of them please phone me on 62548279.

Could I echo and underline these sentiments, and particularly thank the
editor Barbara Allan for all her hard work in bringing the 2005-2006 ABR
to
fruition, as well as the writers and contributors of all the data. It's

very easy to overlook all the effort that goes into this very worthy
publication, which again has excellently summarised the status of each
local
species over the past year. I particularly like the very useful
comparison
with previous years, this is so relevant when I use the ABR, as I often
do,
for current information on both common and rarer species.

Jack Holland
COG President
