I'm pleased someone else thought it worthwhile to
comment on this. I have been on the verge of doing so as I have noticed
and/or heard lots of Weebill activity, oten associated with Thornbills, at many
of my suburban work locations from Charnwood to Queanbeyan. I don't have
any stats but for what it's worth I started noticing increased
activity following the heavy rains which fell earlier in the
year. I'm not sure how that fits in with Michaels comment about the
tough times getting tougher and causing the birds to enter Canberra's
gardens.
