Early morning observations in the Murrumbidgee Corridor this morning revealed a marked movement of Little Ravens northward. Six flocks passed overhead, the smallest numbering 15 and the largest 32 individuals.

At around 14:00, a flock of Rainbow Bee-eaters passed over O'Connor heading north. The birds were at very high altitude, strongly reminiscent of flocks of Common Bee-eaters on migration in the northern hemisphere. Although we have not recorded this species in the 5 months we have been living here this may still have been local dispersal. Has anyone else recorded Bee-eaters moving north today?

Milburn
