At some past year (I couldn't find it right now), Richard Allen posted a message to this list about the Rufous Fantail being a "Rider on the storm", a term presumably borrowed from the Doors song, in that they appear in Canberra after rain. Additionally my GBS Report mentions how regular and mirror-imaged the annual abundance pattern is. Well I had one in my garden from Thursday afternoon to Friday morning. This is an observation consistent with both bits of prior knowledge (and a nice bird to pass through).
