I've seen domestic ducks (various plumage variations of a mallard theme) at the northern end of Lake Tuggeranong pretty much every time I've been there over the past couple of years. Last time I was there (prob in December some time) there was a family of 1 parent and five ducklings. Perhaps they've moved down to the town park area?

At lunchtime today at Lake Tuggeranong all the usuals were out and about. Interesting to see roosting in the willow trees near the Town Beach area were a White-faced Heron, a Great Egret and 8 Little Corellas.

There was also a group of what appeared to be 2 adult and 4 near-adult domestic ducks. I don't know if anyone else has seen them there before, but we have never noticed them on past visits to the lake. They may be fly-ins or possibly someone has released them there. They were not associating with or near any of the "wild" ducks - although there were only a few Black Ducks about at the time. And they certainly weren't at all bothered by the near proximity of people.
