I spent the greater part of today looking for the reported Blue-winged Parrots at Mt Ginini but dipped. I did however see 2 Spotted Quail-thrushes, 1 Fan-tailed Cuckoo (summit), 2 Grey Currawongs, 2 Wedge-tailed Eagles (summit) and 2 Collared Sparrowhawks (summit).

I also stopped in at Warks Road where I found among others a New Holland Honeyeater and a Lewin's Honeyeater. I'm about 90% sure on this as it had the typical yellow ear patch and had an overall olive-green body. I couldnt see the yellow gape in the 1-2 minutes I had it in view. There didnt seem to be any black on the head, it was more a darker olive. At one point it was chased away by a White-naped Honeyeater. It did not act or look like a juvenile White-eared Honeyeater which it may be confused with although the area was saturated with White-eared Honeyeaters. As I was watching the Lewin's I heard a brief staccato call coming from further up the road which could mean there is more than one Lewin's Honeyeater around, although one of the White-eared's calls is similar.

The location is 550 metres up Warks Rd from the Namadgi NP gate at the intersection with Blundell's Ck Rd.

On the drive home via Uriarra Rd I passed a low soaring Black Falcon. Im pretty sure of the id despite a brief view. It was being harassed by a Kestrel.

Cheers
Marnix
