I was pleasantly but mildly surprised to watch for some time a party of
emu-wrens at Dolphin Point (by Burrill Lake) moving through banksias and
casuarinas some 2-3m from the ground, until they reached more typical
low dense heath.
I was rather more surprised to watch a pair of bazas working the canopy at the rainforest crossing some 6km along Forest Rd from Kioloa. Unless someone tells me otherwise (and I'm not essentially a coast person) I reckon this is a long way south of their main range. cheers Ian -- --- Ian Fraser, Environment Tours; Vertego Environmental Wordsmithing GPO Box 3268, Canberra, ACT 2601 ph: 61 2 6249 1560 fax: 61 2 6247 3227 --- ******************************************************************************************************* This is the email announcement and discussion list of the Canberra Ornithologists Group.
