Surely, with all the uni students in Canberra,
there must be several people who know all about these little creatures and their
status locally. Someone like Will Osborne is a good person to ask. When I did
uni in Melbourne, most post grad zoology students were studying these Antechinus
and hardly anyone was interested in what birds were about. Maybe that is an
overstatement. Someone like Will Osborne is a good person to ask. Maybe we rely
overly on websites, just from what you wrote, it looks like Environment ACT rely on COG for bird
data (and well they should). I have two little (old) books that may help with
info. "Mountain Slopes and Plains - The flora and fauna of the ACT", Dept of the
Interior & NPA 1971 and "Wildlife in the ACT" Dept of the
Interior 1969.
I can't help any more with the ID however and
probably wouldn't even know if I saw it with you.
