This morning, in perfect conditions, I ambled along the flat part of Wark's Road from the bottom of Blundell's Creek Road to the most recently fallen tree at the point where the road begins uphill. There was a lot of bird activity and a positively cool damp feel to the place. Highlights were a male Cicadabird lurking in the top of a large E. viminalis , male and, subsequently, female Eastern Whipbird and Bassian Thrush a little way up Blundell's Creek Road and later on another on Wark's Road back towards Canberra.

WARNING: There is a lot of timber falling at the moment. I have been out there several times lately and each time there have been trees fallen across the road at some point in the Wark's/Old Mill Rd loop. This morning in totally calm conditions I heard one hefty branch fall quite close by and a whole tree came down up the slope about 100m above me.
