Yes John,
It is most certainly true that the Channel-billed
Cuckoos does regularly parasitise the Pied Currawong. Years ago I recall Julia
Headford bringing photos to COG that were published with an article in the local
south coast newspaper, of Pied Currawongs feeding a begging baby Sea-Eagle.
Seems weird. The truth was though that the locals, thinking only within the
parameters of what they were familiar with, identified the Currawongs correctly
but someone thought what was clearly (from the photos) a baby Channel-billed
Cuckoo was a baby Sea-Eagle.
In northern parts the Torresian Crow is another
common victim.
