I cycled around  Kaleen the other day and was interested to hear so many
Noisy Friarbirds, particularly in the east and north of the suburb.  Many
more in Kaleen than in and around Scullin.

The Yellow Box are flowering heavily to the west of here too, which may 
be why the ACT ones aren't attracting particularly dramatic bird 
responses. I think it may be a genetically-programmed response along the 
lines of "oops, things are getting grim, better put resources into a 
decent seed set, before they're too depleted".
