I also ran into the American chap. He got the duck at the sewage ponds.
He was only waiting on Spotless Crake at Crake Alley when I left him
just before sunset last night.

No sign of the stint at Kelly's this afternoon, but the Glossy Ibis was
at the far end. My brief look at the stint on Sunday - particularly the
breast marking - immediately said RN Stint, as did the jizz. There was
nothing about the bird that made me think "This is something different."
However, others may disagree.

I did meet an American on a 5 week twitch of Australia. He was looking
for crakes and rails (I took him to Crake Alley) and he was then going
to drive to Lake George to see Freckled Duck! Needless to say, I sent
him across the road.

Hi Sue

Thanks for the invite but I saw your message much too late, and had work
commitments in any case. Was the bird still there, if so what do you
think?
I still think it's a RN, certainly not a Long-toed.

Steve
