Well at the risk of being tedious and boring the tits off everyone,The
Tiercal is of course the Male Falcon,comes from the lower Saxon for one
third as it is that much smaller,but what may interest is that in the
corrupted form Tassel it was used to name the young Male Goshawk and was
often prefixed as Tassel Gentle...it being commonly believed that such birds
were a trifle less aggressive than the females...Tut Tut,Shakespeare
wrote...."Oh for a Falconers Voice,to lure this Tassel Gentle back
again"...Romeo and Juliet..Remember?...Terry Gourlay.
