Went to Jerra wetlands to find the swamp harrier- which I didn't.
However, saw a hobby.
On dusk also saw what I think was a Baillons crake (either that or Aust
spotted),it flew from in front of bittern hide to the reeds left of bittern and
preened for a while but was a bit to far to see colour of beak, etc. But it had
a short beak, brown back, grey underneath on chest, barring on belly,
yellow/green legs, and slight tannish colour on neck, very small.
Also lots of silver gulls (17), 19 redbrows feeding on casuarina seeds next to
Bittern hide. Some goldfinches.
8 pelicans.
3 tree martins and lots of swallows
I think there are australian ravens on a nest North of the sewerage ponds.
Also heard three species of frogs, I think PLAINS FROGLET, COMMON EASTERN
FROGLET, SPOTTED MARSH FROG but am not sure and have to hone up.
And saw 2 species of bats, one large one with thick set head possibly mastiff
bat and one very small. Need to check them out as well.
