Visited the sewage ponds yesterday afternoon, just
survived the Antarctic wind. A Spotless Crake was foraging on flattened
reeds in the north-eastern corner of Pond 6, and the Freckled Duck count has
doubled since Marnix's report last week. 2 Little Eagles were around for most of
our visit, the only raptors seen. Saw 3 Little Grassbirds, heard none, also GH
Cisticola (1), Grey Butcherbird (1).
Thought it might be interesting to compare
waterfowl numbers with Marnix's count from April
