There again this morning
In fact 2 of them
It seems odd that it should now be commonplace to see one or more of these
little chaps feeding around the lopped typha at Kelly Swamp.
I believe it was once regarded as the least common of the 3 small crakes in the
ACT.

Subject: Spotless Crakes at Jerrabomberra Wetlands
As soon as I got off the plane and picked up my rental car yesterday
morning, I went birding at Jerrabomberra Wetlands. I saw about 35
species
of birds in a couple of hours, the best for me were two SPotles Crakes
in
plane view across the water from the first hire to the left from the
car
park ("Bittern"?). This species was a "lifer" for
me, always great to get
a lifer rail standing in the open in good light!
