At least 2 of the above at Westbourne Woods today. They were calling constantly to each other and were in vegetation which, structurally at least, seemed the same as what they are usually found in at this time of year (i.e. cooler months). This species can move to lower altitudes in autumn-winter and may leave rainforest at that time. I believe the month of May is also in line with past sightings of this species in the ACT.

While I was there many walkers, runners and riders passed me on the bike path. The birds seemed to be loosely hanging around with fantails, sp pardalotes, silvereyes, redbrows, br thornbills and scrubwrens. They were about 100 metres along the path from the footbridge over Warrina Inlet, and then about 10 metres in (north from path).

Also seen a Whistling Kite over the inlet and a green Satin Bowerbird.

Cheers
Marnix
