Mole cricket calls are easy to recognize because they are  lower frequency
than most other orthopterans.  They compete in frequency space with some
of the smaller frogs.  There is an example linked to this page:

I've certainly heard Mole crickets in Canberra - no idea of their
abundance - but they are ubiquitous including right into the urban centre
of Sydney.

If you mean Teleogryllus commodus by common field cricket - its
not introduced.  But there are introduced cricket species in Australia -
don't know about Canberra.
