This morning, on a lamppost lightpole on William Hovell Drive below Mt Painter,
where the Brown Falcon is oft to be found, was this guy/gal.
 
 
Surrounded by field guides I am trying to decide whether he/she is a Brown Goshawk or a Collared Sparrowhawk.
Hints gratefully accepted.
 
Incidentally the Brown Falcon (with a "mate") was on some wires downhill from the road
where it seems to be more frequently (than on the lightpost) these days.
It was accompanied by a second bird.
