I actually sent my question about what is smf, to
you, rather than the list, but fine that we all get this now. Sure, I knew it
was something along that line. Actually I have heard it mostly as mixed feeding
flock (MFF if you like). It doesn't matter that much what name is used. The
other characteristic of it is that it typically (I suspect only) involves small
birds. I can say though that I don't recall the interpretation, if indeed that
is what you are suggesting, that "small" relates to a small number of
birds.
