There certainly are some other migrant birds about. It appears a good year for White-winged Trillers. I have also encountered Pallid Cuckoos, Dollarbirds & Bee-eaters. But that is just me and one person who doesn't go out much when it is hot, doesn't count for much. However as you well know, messages on e-mail chat lists tend to follow themes and the Koel is a good one. It is still novel enough to be interesting to mention. The other thing intriguing thing about them is that they are so obvious to hear and so difficult to see. Lastly and hardly surprising that I agree with Geoffrey's comments about this.
