>From the footage I saw on the news 2 nights ago the fire was localised on
the Kingston side near The Causeway. It was in grassland by the entrance to
Jerrabomberra Wetlands Reserve (Jerra Creek end) at Newcastle Street, so
not anywhere near the Kelly's Swamp side.

Although I havent been out there yet to take a look myself.

Following on from Ian Fraser's question about the  fire I wonder if there
was any damage to the hides?  The coverage in the  e-Canberra Times refers
to the blaze being in "rugged terrain" which puzzled  me.
