A Hobby at Campbell Park now would be quite typical. They are arriving back in Canberra now. (I have seen some in the last week.) However if it is an immature (which is a more brown and spotty appearance than adults), it will be from last year's breeding season (as in it is about 10 months old). From HANZAB: "first moult begins near end of first year" (so starting soon). And from the GBS Report and other sources, breeding occurs at a very specific time of year for it not to be possible for this bird to have been born here for this breeding season (which will be starting soon).
