Are there any appropriate fliers on developing residential gardens for
native birds? I would like to have something available for visitors when my
garden is in the open garden scheme on 8-9 October. I will refer to
particular bird-friendly aspects of my garden in the notes on it, but would
like a more detailed and authoritative document specifically about birds. I
can organise photocopying if necessary. Copies of 'Caring for woodland
birds' may be valuable for some visitors if there are spare copies. Also,
any suggestions for suitable books for visitors to peruse?
I have skimmed through the OGS book, and there appear lots of references to
gardens with waterwise features, but references to birds are related to
gardens that are in bush settings etc (my listing fits the usual pattern,
though I gave the writers info on bird-friendliness). That, along with
Floriade etc, indicates that a bit of a campaign might be needed. . . . I
do not follow local gardening radio and press, but they might be appropriate
targets for expert/interesting input.
Re STDs - thanks to all who put me straight . . .
cheers
Barbara
