Dear All,
Two wedgies on the saddle between Majura and Ainslie
yesterday,Monday,one an immature,the other another immature,distinctively
lacking the central tail feathers, unmistakable, wonder where they have
been, where their journey will take them.Recent correspondance on Monga
provokes the response that I walked the Corn Trail from Monga,a month ago,at
the top end the most interesting calls were the Crescent HE's, they were
everywhere, the commonest bird was the Striated Thornbill,Heard the Olive
Whistler, missed the Red Browed Tree Creeper.Certainly if you can't afford
the Spirit of Tasmania,Monga would seem a poor mans substitute.Despite the
shocking dearth of passerines on Majura, there are more than a few Striated
T.Bills still about,even in my garden,a first!unusual I feel.
Regards,Terry Gourlay.
