Several times over the last two years I have seen one, two or three Wedge-tailed Eagles from my work desk at Fyshwick, (3 once last month). Sometimes I actually go out the door of the office, a 2 metre stretch. Once one Eagle was carrying sticks, so they presumably breed somewhere nearby (probably near New Line Quarry, the direction it appeared to be heading at the time). Always flying though. Except yesterday, during a rather cool dull day. One of the chaps pointed out to me an eagle perched on the fence about 40 metres on the other side of Tennant Street. Boss came out intrigued, said he had seen them around Flinders Ranges but not around Canberra, to which I said they have a good population here and there is at least a pair frequently over the paddocks opposite. Upon which another WtE flew slowly over its partner sitting on the perch.

Not an important message, just nice.
