Hi Geoff - speaking of coucals, there were lots of them in Vietnam and
Cambodia - hadn't heard their calls since growing up at Avalon Beach in
Sydney, didn't see any but they were everywhere I went birdwatching, and
lovely to recognise them by their calls. Many birds similar to
Australian ones but some spectacular ones like the white rumped shama,
bright blue back and tail, russet chest and white rump which are totally
different from anything here.
Sorry I didn't get any pics Geoff, not clever at bird photography like
you! Didn't see any superb fairy-wrens either, I think they are just
ours, and aren't we lucky that they are.
