Barbara Allans talk reminded me.
On Saturday 7th at John Knight memorial Park at Lake Ginninderra saw three
Swamp hen chicks that I think were less than 1 week old, very small and fluffy,
dependent on their mother which was calling loudly and directing chicks towards
food. This seems very late breeding (the talk last night said latest in 2003-04
was January)

On Sunday 8th May in Hawker saw 12 rainbow lorikeets flying West to East,
direct and fast, well above the trees. 5 minutes later 3 flew from East to
West, amongst the trees, calling loudly. I have a suspicion based upon history
and behaviour, that these are actually different birds. The 3 birds are
sedentary locals, whereas the 12 were passing through. Anyone else see rainbow
lorikeets?
