That is really good. They have been known to be
there for quite a while. They tend to be autumn - winter breeders (at least not
spring breeders). It would be really good to get a history on this. Several
years ago Tanya May did a little study of these birds near there. I assisted her
a bit with that. Unfortunately her notes appear to have been lost, although
there was a summary information available and the editor has gone to a fair bit
of effort to finalise this information (and I have been involved with that). So
this has been hopefully massaged into an article for Australian Field
Ornithology (formerly Australian Bird Watcher). So there is certainly an outlet
for good local breeding observations of the species. I would suggest that even
what you wrote here is worth some filling out with details - dates, activities
etc. and going to Canberra Bird Notes. Even better if you can manage to follow
this through, with more details as to activity.
