Kathy and I went for a wander over there this afternoon, but to no avail. Found the spot OK thanks to Chris' directions, but the only interesting thing we saw was a utility with four of the biggest hunting dogs we've ever seen in it (mastiffs?) including one riding ON the front bonnet, balanced there quite happily. Don't know what they were after.

Couldn't this just as easily be a juvenile Barking Owl (allowing for a bit of discrepancy in size due to it being at the top of a P.radiata)? There are Barking Owls rumoured to be in Wamboin, near where it abuts Kowen Forest, not that we've ever seen (or heard) any.
