A couple of years ago we had a Collared Sparrowhawk fly into our garden with a feral pidgeon, still alive, in its claws. It dropped the pidgeon, which flew away but was soon grabbed again by the Sparrowhawk which then flew about 50 mtrs and proceedsed to devour the pigeon on the ground This operation took a considerable time, about 2 hours as I recall. There was not much left of the pidgeon. How much would a feral pigeon weigh?
