Sentinels of Wamboin have reported, and I'm assuming Kathy won't mind if I give this interesting despatch broader circulation.   I  have noticed that the most informative messages I get are not via the group, so I suspect a lot of communication has gone underground for some reason.

Re the YTBCs, Steve H has also mentioned numbers on Ainslie-Majura with begging young.

If one might generalise with respect to the YTBCs, I think since Jan 03 the pattern may be for larger concentrations to occur in the suburbs in winter (as for other cockatoos).  During the summers of  03/04 and 04/05, smaller groups continued to occur in at least some suburbs and reserves.  Larger groups are present year-round in strongholds such as Kowen.   If small groups turn up in those suburbs where they do not usually occur, this may be a sign that they are roving for food.  Stand by for reports of shredded hakeas and banksias.
